An autograph letter from Abraham Bradley Jr. to President Thomas Jefferson, May 16, 1807. In the letter Bradley explains that it will be necessary to have a family living no more than 90 miles apart on the post road from Athens to Fort Stoddart (?) since "A man cannot travel more than 90 miles without rest & there should be of course a rider at every such distance & a cabin and family are company where he rests. Until this is done it will be impossible to carry the mail with regularity or expedition." Library of Congress.
