Pickering's Diamond Shakespeare was first issued in parts. The earliest bindings on the earliest Diamond Classics were probably drab boards, followed in 1825 by cloth with paper labels. The first cloth used was of the type on my set of the Diamond Classic Shakespeare and Ciceo.
