The presentation inscription is very difficult to read. The top line, "Hommage a M. de Longpérier" seems reasonably clear. The second line, which one would assume would be the author's signature, is actually signed by Alphone Alkan (1809-1889), a printer and writer of numerous books on printing, indicating that he presented the copy. The last line is truly difficult to read.
