This plate from vol. 21 of the Encyclopaedia Londinensis (1826) depicts Thomas Bensley's steam-powered press, which appears to be a variation of the Applegath & Cowper double-cylinder perfecting press. At the time Benjamin Bensley was working with his father at Bolt Court, Fleet Street, and would have used this press to print the Virgil.
