Baldassare Bonifacio Issues an Early Separate Publication on Archives

In 1632 Bishop Baldassare Bonifacio published De archivis liber singularis in Venice. This 46-page pamphlet containsed brief information on the history and importance of archives, and very little about archive administration. Bonifacio's pamphlet was translated into English with commentary by Lester K. Born in "Baldassare Bonfiacio and his Essay De Archivis", The American Archivist IV (1941) 221-37.
