Comemmorating its new building and state of the art publishing facilities, in 1879 The San Franicisco Chronicle newspaper (founded in 1865) issued The San Francisco Chronicle and its History. This book included four distinctive chromolithographs by the artistic San Francisco chromolithographer Edward Bosqui. The chromolithographs, which have a distinctive artistic charm, are reproduced with this entry. The book confirmed that by this date San Francisco had newspaper editorial and production facilities equal to some of those on the east coast.
