As a Christmas gift in December 1957 Sir Allen Lane and Richard Lane of Penguin Books had an edition of Eric Linklater's Private Angelo printed on India paper. It was the first book produced in England by photocomposition on the Intertype Fototypesetter, and was thus the first book in England produced entirely without any metal type. The edition was 2000 copies.
