In 2013 the Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología (FECYT) funded the project "Descifrando inscripciones romanas en 3D: Ciencia epigráfica virtual" (Decrypting Roman inscriptions in 3D: virtual epigraphic Science). This project was proposed as a multidisciplinary work including historians, linguists and engineers. Its objective was to provide "the first collection of Roman inscriptions in 3D, worldwide." When I visited the epigraphia3d.es site in September 2020 it appeared that they were posting 96 very impressive 3D images or 3D models of various Roman inscriptions in what was then stamped a Beta Testing format. On sketchfab.com they had posted 102 models at that time.
The most impressive aspect of this site from my point of view was that I was able to embed a 3D image into this site. This was the first 3D image that I added to HistoryofInformation.com:
