In his untitled print of a French lawyer's office that is typically referred to as "The Prosecutor's Study," printmaker
Abraham Bosse depicted the many ways that lawyers kept track of documents in the 17th century. On the wall we see documents hanging in labeled pouches. Above the door documents are folded up and bundled together along with some books, some are tied up in bundles. Behind the prosecutor there are more bundles of paper hanging on the wall behind taught strips . More papers on are top of his desk. Items on the floor in the foreground that look like chickens and fruit might be presents from clients.
