In 1837 the Committee for the American Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge published their Prospectus. One of the most valuable aspects of the content of this 36 + 16pp. pamphlet  was the summary of the work of numerous other educational organizations that the American SDUK intended to emulate.
