About 1893 the large industrial machinery companym Bagley & Sewall Co of Watertown, NY, made a proposal to Piercefield Paper and Mining Co., a new paper mill under construction in Piercefield, NY, to build a Fourdrinier Paper Machine. Bagley was clearly in the business of building Fourdrinier machines to customer specifications since they had a standard form printed to record the numerous special requests of each customer. The proposal was filled out by hand in a printed pamphlet outlining the specifications of the machine. Remarkably, I obtained a copy of the proposal, and reproduced photographs of the various specifications in the brochure.
