Koenig & Bauer, Founded by Friedrich Koenig & Andreas Bauer in 1817, Remains One of the World's Largest Manufacturers of Industrial Printing Presses

2020
In 2021 Koenig & Bauer, founded in 1817 by Friedrich Koenig and Andreas Bauer, remained one of the world's largest manufacturers of high speed industrial printing presses, and the printing press company with the longest history of continuous operation. Headquartered in Würzburg, they were especially dominate in bank-note printing. According to the Wikipedia article on Koenig & Bauer accessed in January 2020, "95% of the banknotes used the world are printed on printers made by Koenig & Bauer Banknote Solutions SA." When I reviewed the Koenig & Bauer website they featured super high speed industrial presses for printing on packaging, newspaper production, including sheetfed, digital and webfed, flexo, and what they called "special solutions" including "metal decorating," "printing on glass and hollow containers," "ID-systems,", and "banknote and security printing."

Koenig & Bauer outlined their business in a series of graphics which I have reproduced with this entry. These graphics appeared to be dated 2017.
